I’m the first person to admit that I’m a beauty junkie. After I had my daughter, I started to look for more natural products and was amazed by how easy it was to make some of my own products at home. In lieu of a traditional recipe for self-care issue, here are two of my favorite recipes to give myself a spa at home with ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen. These recipes could not be simpler. Find a few minutes in your day to try one or join up with a mommy friend at an in-home play date and try them together – you and your kiddos may think you’re silly but it’s worth it!

Avocado Honey Mask

Ingredients

  • ¼ Avocado
  • 1 Tbsp Plain Yogurt (I tend to use more or less depending on the ripeness of my avocado)
  • 1 Tbsp Honey

Directions

1. Add all of the ingredients in a bowl

2. Mash up the avocado as you mix it in with the yogurt and honey. Mix to your desired consistency (I like the mask to be a little thicker to keep it from dripping everywhere).

3. Leave on for 10-20 minutes

4. Rinse well (I suggest using a washcloth as this mask is messy and sticky!)

5. Admire your glowing skin!

Coconut Sugar Lip Scrub

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1-2 tsp sugar (I like to use brown sugar)

Directions

This lip scrub could not be easier! Mix the ingredients in a small bowl or jar and apply to your lips. I recommend applying this while standing over a sink as it is crumbly and bits will fall as you use it. Gently scrub your lips either with your finger or a washcloth for 1-2 minutes. Rinse off!
