The San Bruno Parent’s Club provides you exclusive access to the babysitting Co-op. A babysitting co-op is a way to to get nearly free babysitting…
Date nights are back, ya’ll!
Choosing to join the Coop means you agree to exchange babysitting time with other parents in the coop. It works on a point system: you earn points when you watch someone else’s kid, and you spend points when someone watches yours.
Unlike a one-on-one babysitting swap, members are not obligated to make an even exchange with a particular member. Parents may fulfill and request sits according to their own schedule with anyone in the group.
To help everyone have a chance to meet each other before entrusting them with your kids, the Coop has regular get-togethers. It’s a fun way for all the kids and parents to meet and get to know one another.
What is required to join?
- You need to be a member of the San Bruno Parent’s club
- There is a $35 fee to join. This money is significantly less than the cost of even one night of babysitting. The money is used towards refreshments at our regular “mixers”.
- We use sittingaround.com to manage the coop points. You’ll need to sign up to their site and pay their annual fee (currently $12)
- Fill out the required forms and paperwork. We all have different levels of comfort when it comes to who watches our kids, so we aim for transparency.
